Exciting News from Games Workshop!

Exciting News from Games. Hey everyone, hope you’re all doing well! This week, I don’t have much to show off from my own hobby projects, but I’ve got some super exciting news from Games Workshop that I just had to share with you all. If you’re a fan of the Horse Lords, get ready to be blown away by what’s up for grabs.

Rohan At War Pre-orders

So, if you’ve been eagerly waiting for the release of Rohan At War, you’re in for a treat. Games Workshop has dropped a bombshell with a ton of cool stuff available for pre-order. First up, we’ve got the amazing set featuring Saruman and Wormtongue—seriously, it looks fantastic. Plus, the new Rohan terrain kits are almost here, and they look pretty sweet too.

Eye-Catching Sculpts

As someone who loves painting minis, these new sculpts have got me all excited. The level of detail, especially on Saruman, is seriously impressive. But let’s be real, GW’s painting team makes it look easy, and achieving those results might not be a walk in the park. The palisades seem like they’ll be perfect for a quick drybrush job, while the Rohan House might take a bit more effort, especially with all that wood detail.

Dunland Makes a Comeback

But wait, there’s more! GW teased some new sculpts for Dunland, Rohan’s enemy. Now, Dunland might not be the most popular faction in Lord of the Rings lore, but it’s cool to see GW expanding their range. And check it out—they’ve got enough minis in the pipeline for a full-on army!

Painting Made Easy

One thing I’m liking about the new Dunlending sculpts is that they seem pretty straightforward to paint, thanks to all that mail armor. Slap on your basecoat, add some shade, and boom—you’re halfway there. The new heroes might be a bit trickier, but they’ve got some nice details that should be fun to paint.

Old Favorites Return

In addition to all the new stuff, there are also tons of returning minis available for pre-order, including Rohan and Isengard models. Seriously, there’s too much to list here, so you’ll have to check out the preorders on Games Workshop’s site for all the juicy details.

Changes in Store

Now, it’s not all good news. It looks like the Mahud and Arnor armies are being phased out of GW’s lineup. Makes sense, considering they’re more of GW’s creation than straight from Tolkien’s books. And it’s a bit of a bummer that the Barrow Wights are going away too, especially since they’re used in some iconic scenarios.

Spoiled for Choice

With all these releases coming out, from Gondor At War to Scouring of the Shire to Rohan At War, it’s easy to feel overwhelmed. I mean, don’t get me wrong, it’s awesome to see MESBG getting so much love, but who has the time (or money) to keep up with all these new scenarios and minis? Not complaining, though—it’s a great problem to have!

Your Thoughts?

So, what do you think about all this news? Any models catching your eye? Personally, I’m still holding out hope for some new Ent sculpts—they’re a faction I’d love to collect, even if there aren’t many scenarios to use them in. Can’t wait to hear what you all think!
